Best 3D Printer Settings for Islamic Geometric Decor

Islamic geometric designs live or die on clean edges and crisp lattice openings. Here are the 3D-print settings that get the best results from our patterns.

Layer height

A 0.16–0.20 mm layer height on FDM keeps geometric edges sharp; drop to 0.12 mm for fine detail. Resin gives the crispest lines on small pieces like the Islamic Star Coaster.

Walls & infill

Use 3 perimeters so lattice walls print solid and shadows stay sharp on lamps like the Mashrabiya Table Lamp. Infill can stay low (10–15%).

Orientation & supports

Print lanterns and lamps upright; most lattice pieces need no supports. For relief pieces like the Arabic Calligraphy Panel, print face-up to keep the front free of support marks.

Material & colour

Warm or amber filament glows beautifully in the Ramadan Fanous; matte finishes hide layer lines on decor. Always light lamps with a cool LED — never a flame.
